1. Seminar on Product Certification at RGCMS

On 2nd September 2024, the IIIC Committee of Rajeev Gandhi College of Management Studies (RGCMS) organized a seminar on Product Certification in collaboration with Thane Belapur Industrial Association (TBIA). Held at the TBIA venue, the session aimed to highlight the significance of certification in ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance with international standards.

Industry experts, manufacturers, and regulators engaged with students of RGCMS,, addressing key challenges in obtaining certifications and the role of certification in market expansion and consumer trust. The seminar aligned with PO1 & PO4 objectives, helping students understand global, economic, legal, and ethical aspects of business.

This insightful seminar provided students with valuable knowledge and skills, equipping them for successful careers in product management and certification processes.

2. Seminar on Tax Amendment by TBIA

On 30 July 2024, TBIA organized a Seminar on Tax Amendment, focusing on recent GST law changes proposed in the Union Budget 2024. Held at TBIA, the event was attended by students of RGCMS, along with tax professionals, accountants, and entrepreneurs.

The seminar provided an in-depth understanding of key amendments, including the Amnesty Scheme for GST demands, ISD mechanism implementation, Corporate Guarantee implications, and Section 16(4) amendments. Participants also explored GSTR-1A implementation and compliance strategies through interactive Q&A sessions and panel discussions featuring industry experts.

The session emphasized the impact of tax amendments on SMEs, tax planning opportunities, and compliance audits. Attendees appreciated the comprehensive insights and suggested conducting similar seminars regularly to stay updated on evolving tax regulations. aligned with PO4 objectives

3. Industrial Visit to Sula Vineyards & Vintage Wine Yard, Nashik

On 23rd December 2024, the IIIC Committee organized a one-day industrial visit to Sula Vineyards & Vintage Wine Yard, Nashik, with 32 students participating. The visit aimed to provide insights into wine-making, viticulture, and the business strategies of the wine industry.

The tour began with a warm welcome and an introduction to the history and vision of the vineyards. Students explored grape cultivation techniques, sustainable farming practices, and seasonal cycles for varieties like Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, and Sauvignon Blanc. A guided walkthrough covered key wine-making processes, including harvesting, crushing, fermentation, aging, and bottling, with a focus on modern equipment and oak barrel aging.

The Sula team highlighted their eco-friendly initiatives, such as water recycling, solar energy use, and organic farming. Interactive sessions allowed participants to experience grape crushing and boutique wine production. The management team discussed brand positioning, premium market targeting, and quality assurance strategies.

This enriching visit provided students with practical exposure to the art and science of wine-making, aligning with PO1, PO2, and PO4, which emphasize management application, critical thinking, and global business understanding.

4. One Day IV :- Mazgaon Dock

On 11th March 2025 40students visited Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd.it tried to explain operations function & overall management at ship building company.Mr. Nilesh Mgr- MDC(HR) & Mr. Ashish Pandit gave a session on the company history & on-going projects. Students were benefitted from this visit, as they could speak with an individual that has realistic experience in a field that they may not know a lot about, or they may wish to enter in the future.

5. Workshop on Capital Line – Database

On 17 Jan 25 Workshop on Capital Line – Database which provides he powerful interactive querying module allows searching companies based on different parameters including financial, qualitative, and event-driven criteria such as management changes,corporate guidance changes and insider trading. A wide range of tools to undertake technical analysis and charting. It exploits the detailed disclosures mandatory in the annual accounts of companies in India. Correlation to PO1,PO2,PO4.Attended by 99 Students

2023-24

Local Industrial visit to – CETP, (Common Effluent Treatment Plant),Turbhe, Navi Mumbai.

Local Industrial visit to – CETP,(Common Effluent Treatment Plant) visit was aimed to promote business ethics, environmental concern, and social responsibility is crucial for the sustainable development of both businesses and society as a whole. Taking students on a tour of the factory, where they could see first-hand how waste and sludge water is treated was an excellent educational opportunity. Multi-stage filtration process and learning how the treated water can be reused for activities like watering plants helps students understand the practical applications of environmental stewardship. The visit was taken on 30th April,2024, where 125 students accompanied.

One Day I.V at Kruger Ventilations India

On March 6th, 2024, 19 students participated in a day-long visit to Kruger Ventilations in Asagaon, organized by Kruger and RGCMS. The objective was to gain insights into the operations function and overall management of the company. The students embarked on a day trip to various departments within Kruger Ventilations, exploring its operational facets. The Kruger Ventilations India visit proved to be a valuable learning experience for the students, offering practical insights into operations and management functions while also promoting social awareness and enhancing interpersonal skills.

 

Adani Thermal Power Plant

One day local IV was planned at Adani Power Plant, Dhanu on 5th february,2024.To Understand best and sustainable practices in running a coal based power plant.To better the concept of Power Station Practices in operational aspects.Students asked questions & got their queries answered at visits.It was observed that apart from learning management functions the visit brought a great sense of social awareness, team cohesiveness & leadership & management skills among students in respect to their tentative specialization in Future.

 

A day Local I.V. – National Stock Exchange of India Limited

The I.V. visit was taken to NSE with the motive to make students aware Role and Criticality of Financial Advisors regarding investor protection in the digitalized World and is correlated with PO2&PO4.With the collaboration with National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) and the IEPFA, under the aegis of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India along with National Stock Exchange of India Limited. Overall 64 students accompanied.

 

2022-23

1. A day Local I.V. – Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd.

A day Local I.V. – Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd.To learn operations function and overall management at ship building company I.V. committee took permission from Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd.Total number of students accompanied were 40.

Mr.Satya Narayan Pradhan AGM- MDC(HR) and Mr. Anil Dhavase gave a session on the company history and ongoing projects and even answered all queries and questions asked. The students were taken for a trip to the shop floor where they learnt how war ships, submarines are made .It was observed that apart from learning management functions the visit brought respect for the company visited and the nation too.

 

2. CETP, TBIA. Turbhe

A Local I.V. – CETP, TBIA. Turbhe was taken on 3rd April 2023 to promote business ethics, environment concern & social responsibility while doing business among students I.V. committee took permission from CETP, TBIA. Turbhe overall 30 students accompanied for the Local IV.Mr. Mahesh Patil a session on the company history & ongoing projects & even answered all queries & questions asked. Later the students were taken for a tour across the factory to the shop floor where they learnt how waste/ sludge water is treated through multi stages of filtration, churning & finally water is treated enough to be used for reuse in activities such as watering the plants, etc.

It was observed that students did ask questions & got their queries answered

 

2021-22

1. Virtual I.V.: Amul company

Virtual Industrial Visit was arranged for students were conducted. An introduction to Amul Company was given & automated video archive was used to conduct virtual industrial visit of Amul company’s ice cream & butter manufacturing shop floors were showcased..
